@thomasreggi @tokencss @PostCSS @code I know some people genuinely love Tailwind for the utility class pattern, which is great! But my intuition is that the majority of folks use tools like TW because the design constraints are helpful. Design Tokens are hard to structure and opinionated tools help.

For the lodash rewrite I’m declaring tech debt bankruptcy. Starting from scratch with TypeScript and Rollup. 🔔 No FP wrappers. That fad is over. RIP your co-workers if you introduced that headache into your codebase. Definitely not team or human friendly.

I do see the light at the end of the tunnel. After 3 years of developing this technology, tomorrow we will have all the technical capabilities to leverage Module Federation in SSR, which has been the biggest limiting factor to expanding its use at the company.

@hankchizljaw @b_e_n_t_e_n To be serious for a second, I can see their point. With TW, there’s a base level of mess that scales linearly with style complexity and surface area. With plain CSS, it can be a lot better. But it can also be a *lot* worse. Different authors will have different “curves”…

@saltnburnem You don't need to write `display: flex; align-items: center; gap: 1rem;` to learn about Flexbox. Using `flex items-center gap-1` also teaches you that. Learning what utilities to compose to build a given UI is absolutely learning CSS.

@simonswiss People generally hate change and assume that doing things the 'vanilla' way is the hard way and because it's the hard way it's the right and best way. Makes as little sense as trying to hammer in a screw because the hammer was the original way to pierce wood with sharp metal.

@CalinLeafshade 1) I'd argue it's the opposite - utilities are part of a constraint-based design system with thoughtful scales and 'design tokens' 2) You don't. Setting a font family on the tag will trickle down to all elements in the HTML. Inheritance still works, it's still CSS 3) Yes

You know how `height: 100%` doesn't do what you want it to do? How about a new thing, `height: stretch`, that does?
