Exactly one year ago today I released https://t.co/vQdndb1QUB a web app that lets you compare the performance of different javascript snippets in the browser.. Today I am excited to release V2 🥳 https://t.co/jyGnrtd2Mp
From new icons to product videos, we tirelessly explore a wide gamut of art direction. Here's a few moments that didn't make the cut in our recent Microsoft Editor #UX film. Come see more of our #WIP #design work on our Instagram account: https://t.co/tuMMQRFHen https://t.co/C9l79yhxBi
I wonder what the most expressive layout system (similar to flex box) would be, if you were not allowed to take multiple passes on the tree. That’s one thing that makes flex box tricky to implement (and efficiently)
I might be wrong about this but I feel like 'Junior Fullstack Developer' should not exist. Fullstack requires a wide knowledge: DB, DevOps, Backend, Frontend, etc... which is the exact opposite of a Junior dev. For me, it just means the company will underpay you.
I am incredibly excited to announce that I have accepted an offer from @Apple to join the Global Security Tools as an ICT4. I am stoked to work on a wide-breadth of software in @Apple's ecosystem, and getting to learn and work in Swift for the first time. https://t.co/JkESkyZfqz
What I have found interesting whilst in lockdown is the promotion of all the subjects that in school get the least appreciation; Art, Music, Sport. If they are all essential for keeping us sane in lockdown why aren’t they just as essential when it comes to funding?
literally who cares what you did during a pandemic??? what’s next, proposing that people in ICE detention camps learn mindfulness techniques? shut the fuck upppp
Not really sure how I feel about the fact that my brain has apparently decided that 10pm is a great time to start coding and midnight is a great time to be sharper than I was for most of the work day Maybe I should start working Euro hours
Fun Fact: A Numeronym is when the letters between the first and last are replaced with a number representing the number of letters omitted. i18n = internationalization a11y = accessibility l10n = localisation Next time you see one of these, you'll know! #100DaysOfCode
CEO of a 400+ employee business says WFH is working well, he may not renew his SF lease to save $10m a year (office + lunches etc) and instead do a couple of all-hands offsites a year (much cheaper). Lots of others must be thinking similarly- CRE could be permanently altered.
@stephendpalley Life-critical software itself, the artifact, is what’s certified today. Unsure why we’d need to certify people as though they were artifacts. A software engineer can work for Netflix and then SpaceX. Same skillset. Who they are is less important to regulate than what they build.
@stephendpalley I assume this is a joke? That's like saying an artist needs to be licensed with a graduate degree. I've been a software engineer for over 40 years. Written two best selling video games. No degree.
@find_evil @winds_hit_heavy @VitalikButerin @stephendpalley Well, they get paid to do it, regardless of their credentials. That makes them professionals. If you’re concerned about the hiring practices, that’s another conversation.
✨#RxJS Lessons✨ Creation - fromEvent() #javascript has many types of events that let us know when interesting things happen. Using fromEvent(), we can create Observables that emit when these events are triggered🔥 Here's how: #100DaysOfCode #CodeNewbie #typescript https://t.co/K5ipuhW6IQ
